Knitting
Here is Hilary, neonatal nurse and knitting co-ordinator, visiting a local knitting group who have been making some beautiful knitted items for the unit. Thank you!
Incubator covers
Burps have recently paid for some fabric to make incubator covers and they have now been completed. There are 6 for the baby Leo incubators, 6 for the drager incubators and 3 for the giraffe incubators. Thank you to the expert sewers!
Thank you to The Victoria Club
Thank you very much to The Victoria Club in Aylesbury who raised an amazing £1,000 for Burps in their Easter Egg Raffle! Burps were nominated by the club chairman Paul Phillips whose son spent time on the unit last year.

Sound ear
Burps have recently paid for a Sound Ear for the neonatal unit to show how much noise is generated in each area with an audit trail to show noise levels at different times of the day and night. This will help make staff and parents more aware of how much noise they are actually making […]
Sleep study monitors
Burps have recently paid for 2 new sleep study sats monitors. These pieces of equipment are vital for weaning patients off oxygen and make parents lives much easier when they can keep them at home rather than having to keep travelling to and from the hospital to collect and bring them back. Here are Thomas […]
Breast pumps
Burps have recently purchased 6 new Medela breast pumps as the neonatal unit are aiming to eventually have one for every bed space. This will make it so much easier for expressing as mums won’t have to leave their babies and they won’t have to wait until a pump is available. This is all made […]
Nursing chairs
Burps recently purchased 4 new nursing chairs for the unit thanks to all your donations, including £714 from Waitrose Aylesbury last year which was organised by Katie and Grant Hurrell specifically to pay for a nursing chair. They are already being greatly appreciated on the unit – so thank you!
vCreate video messaging service
Burps are pleased to tell you that we have now started funding vCreate (as of 1 April 2022), the video messaging service that has been used in the unit since just before covid started. This means the nurses can take videos of the babies to send securely to the parents when they are not allowed […]
Easter bags

The first time we have been able to do it since 2019 because of all the covid restrictions! We included some beautiful spring-coloured knitted blankets, cardigans and hats that had been […]
